My Journey so far…
I began my journey with Yoga in 2007 when my husband and I attended our first Yoga class together. We run our own business and had experienced an extremely stressful few years, which had left me exhausted and unwell. My weekly class gave me the opportunity to become aware of the imbalances in my life and this awareness gave me the opportunity to make the positive changes I needed.
In 2009 I received my mantra and spiritual name ‘Gayatri’ from Swami Satsangi. As I began a regular Yoga practice this deepened my journey and in 2010 I enrolled on a two year British Wheel of Yoga Teacher Training Diploma Course with Cathy-Mae Karelse, which I completed in 2012. In 2011 I received another initiation of Jignasu sannyasa from Swami Satsangi. This means I aspire to cultivate various positive qualities within myself so I can live in a more meaningful way.
I run my classes from the Yoga Space in Burnham-on-Crouch; a space dedicated to the practice of Yoga and healing. I am committed to teaching Yoga in a safe and nurturing way. We all inhabit a body that is unique and that uniqueness needs to be honored. Therefore I strive to encourage Ahimsa (non-harming/compassion) towards oneself during our Yoga practice and I encourage the use of blocks, cushions and blankets to help in finding comfort in your yoga poses. I have a great respect for these ancient teachings and I will only teach the practices I have experienced for myself.
Sound has been an integral part of my practice since receiving my mantra in 2009 and this has led me to a deep connection to sound healing with gongs. I was introduced to the gongs in 2014 and since then they have been a part of my life and yoga teaching. To deepen my connection and healing work, I decided to enroll in a year long Gong Practitioners Training Course in 2015 with Sheila Whittaker, through the College of Sound Healing. Having graduated in 2016, my wish is to continue to work with and deepen my connection with the gongs through sound healing and yoga…
